According to the National Bank of Moldova, the share of loans issued in national currency amounted to 75.9% of the total amount, in foreign currency - 22.8%, and loans pegged to the foreign exchange rate - 1.3%. The volume of new loans in national currency amounted to 2 billion 768 million lei, an increase of 9% compared to the previous month, as well as an increase of 82.6% compared to April 2020. The volume of new loans issued in foreign currency, recalculated in lei, amounted to 831.8 million lei, which is 9.7% less than in the previous month, but 16.7% higher than in April 2020. The volume of issued loans pegged to the foreign exchange rate amounted to 46.3 million lei, decreasing by 11.4% compared to the previous month, and compared to April 2020, the indicator decreased by 55.2%. In terms of the terms of loans issued, the most demanded were loans for a period of 2 to 5 years (52.9% of the total volume of loans), where loans to legal entities accounted for the biggest part of 31.2% of the total volume of provided loans. Loans in national currency comprised mainly loans to individuals (48.2% share) and loans to non-financial commercial companies (44.9% share). At the same time, 46.7% of the last category of loans were issued for trade.
