Germany will continue to support Moldova, including by allocating new financial assistance of 37 million euros.

This was stated at a press conference on Wednesday by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Dorin Recean in Chisinau. The head of the German Foreign Ministry noted that both the current federal government of Germany and the future executive branch will maintain a strong commitment to supporting Moldova. According to her, Germany's support will continue both through the European Union and within the framework of bilateral assistance. She assured that Germany will continue to support Moldova's European path, projects to strengthen energy efficiency, equip schools and hospitals, and modernize the national army and police. Annalena Baerbock especially noted German assistance in overcoming the Kremlin's energy blackmail of Moldova, as well as in countering disinformation. Dorin Recean, in turn, expressed gratitude to the German authorities, emphasizing that it is the largest donor, accounting for 25% of the total volume of foreign aid to our country. He listed the projects that are being implemented with the support of Germany. Among them is the modernization of the water supply network in Cahul with investments of 8 million euros, which are part of a larger program worth over 54 million euros. "Recently, 18 vehicles were donated to the Customs Service of Moldova. Germany invests in energy efficiency and social infrastructure, for example, in the school in Dorotcoe village or the kindergarten in Miclesti. It supports dual education in vocational training centers in Chisinau, Balti, Comrat, Hincesti, Soroca, as well as in other settlements," Dorin Recean said. He also noted Russia's attempts to undermine democracy and create provocations. According to him, before the presidential elections and referendum, Kremlin agents carried out a large-scale operation to bribe voters. "They spent about 200 million euros to influence the vote and destabilize Moldova, but they failed," the Prime Minister emphasized. It is worth noting that Annalena Baerbock has arrived in Chisinau for the fourth time. Her visit included meetings with President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean, as well as with the heads of several localities in the country and a visit to one of the vocational schools. Recall that Germany supports the implementation of the dual training program for specialists in Moldova. Today, 400 companies with German capital operate in Moldova, providing thousands of jobs. The largest German investments were made by Dräxlmaier Group, Obermeyer Group, Erich Jaeger, Kaufland and others, which, as the government notes, reflect the confidence of German companies in the economic potential of Moldova and make a significant contribution to the development of various sectors of the country's economy and the creation of jobs. // 02.04.2025 – InfoMarket.
