The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will participate for the first time in the G20 summit to be held on September 11-12 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)
According to the National Bank's message, in particular, NBM will participate for the first time in the Global Meeting of the International Sustainable Banking and Financing Network, organized within the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group (SFWG), an event of global importance to be held on September 11-12 in Rio de Janeiro. For the first time, the National Bank of Moldova will participate in this high-level international forum, represented by its Governor, Anca Dragu. The event brings together more than 40 sustainable finance leaders, central bank governors, including high-level representatives of the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group (SFWG), SBFN members, experts from the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). As a representative of a developing country, Anca Dragu, Governor of the NBM, will participate in the SBFN Member Spotlight panel discussion, during which she will discuss the topic of sustainable finance from the perspective of the National Bank of Moldova's commitment to develop and implement a national sustainable finance system in line with most international best practices and EU best practices. At the same time, she will share the experience of the NBM regarding the development and implementation, in cooperation with the IFC, of a sustainable finance roadmap. As of November 8, 2023, the National Bank of Moldova joined the International Sustainable Banking and Finance Network (SBFN) - a voluntary community of financial sector regulators, central banks, ministries of finance, ministries of environment and industry associations of emerging markets engaged in promoting sustainable finance.
