
Moldova has created favorable economic conditions for investors, it can become a real “prodigy of the region”, while those who do not invest in it today will regret it in 5-10 years - Anca Dragu
Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) stated this while speaking at the 33rd Economic Forum “Time of New Leaders - Shaping the Future Together”, held in the Polish city of Karpacz. According to the NBM, the event brought together more than 6,000 participants from all over the world, influential leaders in the field of regional and global decision-making. The agenda includes 500 debates, 6 plenary sessions, workshops, presentations and numerous discussions on the main issues shaping the present and future of Central and Eastern Europe. Key topics of the event include the impact of the war in Ukraine on the global security architecture, topics of economy, finance, security, green energy, development of artificial intelligence, etc. In her speech, Anca Dragu highlighted the progress made by Moldova in reforming the financial system and creating favorable economic conditions for investors. “Whoever does not invest in Moldova today will regret it in 5-10 years,” Anca Dragu said. She noted that Moldova offers today good investment opportunities, especially in such sectors as information technologies, agriculture and digitalization, having all the attributes to become a real “prodigy of the region”. Governor of the National Bank of Moldova also emphasized that the banking reforms are in line with the best European practices, noting that “the measures taken by the NBM brought inflation back to the target corridor, thus protecting the economy and citizens”. The NBM head emphasized that Moldova is currently taking decisive steps towards European integration. “By participating in this international event, the National Bank of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to actively participate in the regional and global dialog on financial stability and sustainable economic development,” Anca Dragu said.
