Poland will continue to support Moldova's European path - Donald Tusk

Polish Prime Minister made this statement while addressing a plenary session of the Moldovan Parliament, in front of MPs, civil society representatives, students, as well as economic agents who have established commercial ties with Poland. Donald Tusk paid an official visit to Chisinau at a historic period for Moldova, when important progress is being achieved on Moldova's European path. In this context, Polish Prime Minister spoke about the experience of Poland, which has been part of the European family for 20 years. “You are facing an important choice that Poland made 20 years ago. Joining the European Union was one of the most sensible choices Poles have made in history, and it was beneficial in every way. And the matter doesn’t concern political visions, but real life, and Poland has achieved economic success year after year. I come to you as a loyal and faithful friend in the efforts to create a secure, sovereign and prosperous Moldova,” Donald Tusk said. He emphasized that Poland will continue supporting Moldova's European path. “You will always be able to count on Poland if you express your desire to continue this historic process of building an independent and integrated Moldova in a strong and united Europe,” Polish Prime Minister added. Moldovan Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu thanked the Polish Prime Minister for all the support Poland has provided to Moldova over the years. “Moldova is going through a historic period and is facing the most important decision since its independence. I believe that we will make the right choice, because we all want to live in peace at home. We feel that we have real friends on this path and Poland is a friend we can count on,” Igor Grosu said. The Speaker said that Moldova feels Poland's support not only at the political level, but also at the level of our winemakers and farmers, who are happy that Moldovan wines and fruits get on the tables and shelves of Polish stores. // 05.09.2024 – InfoMarket
