Moldovan government will allocate 3.5 billion lei from the state budget for the implementation of important projects in different fields, and due to the EU assistance, the total amount of allocations for them will double.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced this at a press conference on Wednesday while presenting information on the implementation of new infrastructure projects in different fields. According to him, in particular, the Leuseni-Hincesti road, an important route connecting us with the EU, is to be built in the next 2 years. It is also planned to complete the construction of the Soroca-Arionesti-Otaci road, the works on which were unblocked after more than 10 years and which "means 40 km of European road in the north of the country, expected by more than 80 thousand local citizens". Through the construction of the Chisinau-Giurgiulesti highway, bypassing Vulcanesti and Slobozia-Mare, a direct connection to Moldova's only port on the Danube will be ensured. Dorin Recean said that a feasibility study on the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau-Odessa highway is to be carried out, and the road itself may be built by 2028. For the residents of Chisinau and the whole country, another segment of the capital's ring road will be built, which will simplify the traffic and will have 4 lanes and a length of almost 7 km. Prime Minister said that "also for the residents of Chisinau and for the whole country, the renovation of the Chisinau Circus will be completed." The construction of a highway bridge in Ungheni is scheduled, which will ensure the flow of traffic to Romania and the European Union, "this project is expected for decades". Sanitary blocks in more than 150 schools will be renovated and equipped. There will be 13 stroke centers across the country, which will allow timely rescue and treatment of stroke patients. In the energy sector, a high-voltage power transmission line Vulcanesti-Chisinau will be built, which will increase Moldova's energy independence and ensure access to the Romanian and European electricity markets. It is planned to implement energy efficiency projects in 80 residential buildings and 600 private houses, 15 medical institutions, and 60 thousand households will receive eco-vouchers, which will allow them to exchange electrical appliances for new, more saving ones. Authorities will continue to encourage investment in green energy projects. "We have already announced tenders for the production of wind farms with a capacity of 105 MW and photovoltaic power plants with a capacity of 60 MW. At the same time, we will launch a national energy efficiency project for houses and public buildings in order to save and pay less for energy," Dorin Recean said. According to him, the modernization of a 150-kilometer section of the Ocnita-Balti-Ungheni-Chisinau-Causeni railroad is also planned. The rehabilitation of this section of the railroad will start this spring and will make it possible to significantly increase the speed of the trains' movement in Moldova. At least 10 exemplary schools out of 35 planned by the Ministry of Education will be completed, where major repairs will be made. The schools will be equipped according to the European standards, and they will modernize sports grounds, improve yards, and ensure energy efficiency and implementation of digital technologies. "The government is building and will continue to build a European Moldova, where all residents have natural, healthy living conditions. Building Moldova is a process that takes time and needs everyone. We will succeed in building a Moldova that looks European from north to south, in the smallest villages and the biggest cities, if the whole country lends a shoulder. The government fulfills its share of responsibility and builds the whole country, but each of us has to take part, everyone where he/she is - to do his/her job well, to work honestly," Prime Minister said. //13.03.2024 - InfoMarket.
