A new batch of equipment for the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power line has arrived in Moldova.

The Ministry of Energy reported this, noting that it's about autotransformers necessary for the modernization of the Chisinau 330 kV power plant. This equipment, with a total weight of more than 600 tons, will be delivered by March 18 on special trucks accompanied by police. In total, more than 20 vehicles with equipment will participate in the transportation. As noted in the Ministry of Energy, if last year there were some delays in the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power line, now all the problems have been resolved and the work is being carried out in accordance with the schedule. The modernization of the said station is part of the project for the construction of a 400 kV transmission line from Vulcanesti to Chisinau and will allow it to be connected to the electrical system of the Chisinau municipality. The line will strengthen the country's energy security and cross-border energy transportation between Moldova and Romania. Thus, the power supply capacity of the consumption center in the central region of the country, including the municipality of Chisinau, will be increased, and the safe and reliable operation of the entire electrical power system of Moldova will be ensured. The main equipment for the Vulcanesti-Chisinau power transmission line construction project has been manufactured, tested at the factory and is in the delivery stage. Construction work should begin soon. The Contractor (an association of Romanian companies Siemens Energy, Electromontaj and Energotech) is responsible for all design, production, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and training activities. The investment package is part of the Electric Power System Development Project and part of the priority measures of the government and the Ministry of Energy of Moldova. It was previously reported that the construction of a 400 kV transmission line from Vulcanesti to Chisinau is part of the project for the development of the electrical power system of Moldova. The cost of the project, financed by the World Bank, is 61 million euros. The power transmission line will allow transporting electricity from Romania or other European markets to Chisinau, bypassing the Moldavian State District Power Plant, located in the Transnistrian region. // 11.03.2024 — InfoMarket
