
The EU will provide Moldova with 250 million euros in macro-financial assistance and direct budgetary support and will increase its financial support in the next years.
This was said during a meeting of Prime Minister Dorin Recean held in Brussels with European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni. The sides discussed the possibilities of developing the national economy and the EU financial support projects. According to the government's press service, Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked the European Commissioner for the assistance provided by the EU to Moldova, especially for the last announced support worth 250 million euros in macro-financial assistance and direct budget support. At the same time, Prime Minister commended the European Commission's proposal to increase the financial assistance to Moldova, in the context of the revision of the EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027. At the same time, in a meeting with European Commission Vice-President Vera Jourova, Prime Minister Dorin Recean referred to the process of implementing the 9 recommendations of the European Commission. He thanked the European official for acknowledging the authorities' efforts to carry out reforms. "The Moldovan government is firmly committed to the justice reform, the continuation of the fight against corruption and the implementation of the de-oligarchization plan. They are our priorities both in the EU accession process and in the country's economic development. We count on the European Commission's support to start negotiations on Moldova's accession to the EU," Prime Minister said.
