A Moldovan government delegation headed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean is paying a visit to Brussels on 24-26 October.

The government's press service said that the visit is aimed at promoting Moldova's European integration agenda, participating in the Global Gateway forum, as well as strengthening cooperation with NATO. In particular, Dorin Recean will participate in the Global Gateway forum on the theme "Stronger together through sustainable investments", organized by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. In Brussels, Dorin Recean will hold a series of meetings with the heads of European institutions, including the Vice-President of the European Commission, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell; EC Vice-President in charge of the European Green Deal, Inter-institutional Relations and Foresight, Maroš Šefčovič; EC Vice-President in charge of values and transparency, Vera Jourová; European Commissioner for the Economy Paolo Gentiloni; European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson; European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders; European Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean; European Commissioner for Neighborhoods and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi; European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries Virginijus Sinkevičius and European Commissioner for Climate Policy Wopke Hoekstra. The government said that the visit's agenda is aimed at consolidating the relations between Moldova and the European Union, assessing the progress in the implementation of the reforms, as well as at discussing the possibilities to deepen cooperation in key sectors, focused on economic development, agriculture, infrastructure, energy and environment. This is another concrete step to promote Moldova's European integration direction. Also in Brussels, Prime Minister will hold a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, with whom he will discuss defense and sustainability programmes, including interoperability with NATO and its member states, in the context of efforts to modernize the National Army. Dorin Recean will also participate in a meeting of the North Atlantic Council. The Moldovan delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Deputy Prime Minister, Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Bolea, Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu, Environment Minister Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov and State Secretary of the Energy Ministry Carolina Novac.
