The European Commission intends to create Reni-Giurgiulesti-Galati "green corridor" within the EU Solidarity Lanes to modernize the transport infrastructure and strengthen interconnections with the EU.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI), this was said during a meeting of the Governmental Commission for European Integration, chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The meeting was generally devoted to monitoring the progress made by Moldova in order to launch EU accession negotiations. The participants in the meeting discussed the developments related to the latest amendments to the National Plan on EU accession, which was submitted to public consultations and is due to be approved by the government. MFAEI State Secretary Stela Leuca stressed the importance of mobilizing all institutions and prioritizing the activities on the European integration agenda. For his part, Dorin Recean emphasized the importance of effective planning and strengthening the authorities' commitments in order to speed up the achievement of the European agenda goals. The agenda of the meeting also included the topic of preparing for the self-assessment of the compliance of the national legislation with the EU acquis. The next steps to optimize this process were discussed, focusing on the capacity building of the civil servants involved. At the same time, the government also considered a mechanism of incentives for the personnel involved in the fulfillment of priority tasks in the context of the implementation of the EU accession requirements.
