
The World Bank will continue to support the implementation of programs and reforms initiated by the Moldovan government.
This was stated by the head of the World Bank office in Moldova Inguna Dobraja at a meeting with the new Minister of Finance Veronica Sireteanu. According to the Ministry of Finance, the sides discussed cooperation of Moldova with the World Bank. At the meeting, the Minister of Finance highly appreciated the World Bank's openness to support Moldova in the implementation of programs and reforms initiated by the government. The World Bank Country Director confirmed the World Bank's willingness to continue supporting Moldova's national priorities through its programs. As InfoMarket news agency earlier reported, the World Bank is elaborating a Partnership Framework with Moldova for 2023-2027, which will represent the main development goals, in the achievement of which the World Bank Group wants to essist Moldova. The goals are selected in accordance with the government's priorities and the main constraints to the country's development, identified on the analytical basis of the World Bank Group's Systematic Country Diagnostic. The development of the new Country Partnership Framework 2023-2027 offers the possibility of active participation of all participants at country level in World Bank projects, in order to make the World Bank activities more transparent and effective in promoting poverty reduction goals and achieving economic growth. It was previously reported that since Moldova joined the World Bank in 1992, the World Bank has disbursed over $1.3 billion for over 60 operations in the country and currently has 12 active projects with a total commitment of $638.1 million.
