The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Program for the distribution of the Road Fund’s financial means for national public roads for 2023 with the expenditures of 1 billion 485 million 348.4 thousand lei.

The funds will be used to maintain and repair engineering structures and public roads with a total length of 5,951 km. Thus, over 338.8 million lei will be used for the current maintenance of roads in summer (patching, profiling of roads with crushed stone with material addition, maintenance of roads and drainage constructions, unforeseen works: in case of floods, landslides, including contracts based on efficiency criteria, etc.), and 55 million lei will be used during the winter (snow clearing, de-icing). About 122 million lei is provided for periodic maintenance of roads. 155 million lei will be allocated for repairs of roads and bridges and 543.5 million lei for capital repairs. For roads management (including expenses for arbitration and court expenses), 70 million lei is approved. There will be spent 70.5 million lei for design works, evaluation of roads and land acquisition. This year, 534.5 million lei was allocated for reconstruction and repair of national public roads and engineering structures. The government approved 35 million lei for co-financing of road rehabilitation projects in 2023. 12 million lei is to be used to buy equipment and supplies for equipping the road testing laboratory of the State Road Administration and measuring the traffic on national roads. And 3 million lei has been approved for research work for experimental sections of roads and bridges. The government decision will come into force after its publication in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova).
