Moldova plans to produce at least 30% of the energy consumed in the country from its own renewable sources by 2025 - Igor Grosu

The Moldovan speaker stated this, speaking at the opening in Chisinau of the regular, 10th session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. He noted that last year was very difficult for Moldova, including due to a serious energy crisis that the country faced due to the limitation of gas supplies by Gazprom. “But this energy blackmail has made us stronger. For the first time since independence, more than 30 years later, we are no longer dependent on Russian gas. We have purchased our own natural gas reserves. And we will continue at the same pace to stop being dependent on one supplier and diversify our sources of supply. Now we need to launch and support as many green energy projects, renewable energy sources, more solar panels and more wind turbines as possible. By 2025, we plan to have at least 30% of the energy consumed in Moldova produced from our own renewable sources. And here we are confident that we will succeed, especially thanks to our external partners, who have already shown their openness to share their experience,” the speaker of parliament said.// 20.02.2023 — InfoMarket
