The government approved the National Strategy for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas for 2023-2030.
It is a long-term policy documфent and covers the government's priorities for sustainable development of the country's agriculture and rural areas. The main goals of the strategy are: increasing the competitiveness of the agri-food sector; promotion of organic agriculture; reducing poverty in rural areas; adaptation of agricultural producers to climate change; stimulation of entrepreneurship in rural areas. Funding for the measures envisaged in the framework of the strategy will be provided from the budgetary funds, as well as from the resources of external donors. It is noted that in the conditions of victory over COVID-19 and the resumption of global economic processes of the pre-pandemic period, in 2023-2030 we can expect a fairly rapid recovery of the national economy of Moldova with an annual growth of 4-4.2%. It is expected that public investment in the agricultural sector will continue to increase and reach about 3 billion lei by 2030. Also, in order to eliminate bureaucratic barriers, increase value added in agriculture and labor productivity, the share of private investment in total investment in agriculture will be about 13 billion lei by 2030. Thus, the total investment in the agricultural sector will be about 4.63% of the country's GDP compared to 1.66% in 2020. // 17.02.2023 — InfoMarket
