Natural gas supply prices applicable from June 1 must be reviewed and approved by ANRE by the end of this month.
The Emergency Situations Commission adopted the respective decision. Earlier, Moldovagaz submitted a request to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) to increase the tariff for natural gas supplied in 2022 to end consumers at regulated prices. According to the draft calculation, the tariff for natural gas at low pressure gas distribution network outlet points is proposed to increase from 14060 to 22229 lei per thousand cubic meters (+58.1%). The main factor that necessitated the revision of tariffs was a significant increase in purchase prices. Moldovagaz stresses that the decision is in strict compliance with the legislation and will enable to fully cover the cost of gas purchase and thus ensure fulfillment of contractual payment obligations to the supplier. According to Moldovagaz calculations, the new tariffs should come into effect on June 1. Natural gas tariffs at regulated prices are approved by ANRE during an open meeting. Chairman of Moldovagaz Board Vadim Ceban reminded that last January, when the tariffs were changed, the purchase price of natural gas for final consumers was $620 per 1,000 cubic meters. In April, the price of natural gas reached $1194 per 1,000 cubic meters while in May it is expected to be around $920 per 1,000 cubic meters. // 31.05.2022 - InfoMarket
