The probation period for employees will be extended from 3 to 6 months.
It is stipulated by the relevant bill adopted by the Parliament in the first reading and aimed at increasing the productivity and competitiveness on the labor market. Among the proposed measures is the extension of the probation period from 3 to 6 months for all categories of workers, with the exception of unskilled workers, in order to comprehensively test the professional skills of the employee. It is also proposed to simplify the procedure for changing the work schedule, the employment contract, and transfer to another unit with the consent of the employee. Another provision of the draft law is aimed at reducing the minimum term for informing workers about changes in the shift work schedule from 1 month to 14 days. The project also revises the procedure for reinstatement in the workplace. As a consequence, the employer may decide to reinstate the employee or provide the severance pay. To ensure predictability of return from maternity leave and partially paid parental leave, it is proposed that employers be required to notify employers at least 14 days in advance of the anticipated return date. If the position is occupied - at least 2 months before return. The new changes also concern the regulation of the annual leave schedule and the familiarization of employees with the schedule. Also, the draft provides for informing employees about engaging in overtime work and increasing from 120 to 240 hours the overtime work per year with the consent of the employee. With regard to civil servants the bill revises the procedure of their assessment. Thus it is proposed to evaluate the officials once every six months. It is provided that civil servants will be able to hold managerial positions only until the age of 65 years. The document also refers to a new type of disciplinary offense, which is understood as repeated failure to perform the tasks. The bill provides for amendments to the Labor Code, the Law on Civil Service and Status of Civil Servants, the Law on the Approval of the Unified Classifier of State Positions, and the Law on Salaries in the Public Sector. The amendments shall be approved in the second reading. // 27.05.2022 – InfoMarket
