Moldovan transport workers will be able to take advantage of the liberalized regime of cargo transportation in the EU countries.
This was reported by the press service of the Parliament, noting that this will be provided for by the Agreement with the European Union on the carriage of goods by road, negotiations on the conclusion of which our country will begin. At a meeting on Wednesday, members of the commission on foreign policy and European integration approved a draft of the relevant document, which will regulate issues related to the type of transport operations, the duration of the agreement and the period of its entry into force. Negotiations on this agreement will take place after the call of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova to the EU countries and the European Commissioner for Transport to liberalize the transit of road freight transport for Moldovan operators. Currently, trucking of Moldovan goods to the EU is carried out on the basis of permits, and quotas are set during negotiations, and, according to the authorities, they are insufficient for carriers from Moldova. Moreover, the start of the war in Ukraine has affected supply chains and major transport routes, forcing operators to bypass the territory of the neighboring country. As a result, previously agreed permit quotas were exhausted in 2 months. // 25.05.2022 — InfoMarket.
