Accelerating the process of European integration is more important for Moldova now than ever, and the authorities will continue efforts to secure the country in the space of European values - Maia Sandu.
The President of Moldova stated this in an address to citizens, speaking about the situation in our country. She noted that she actively communicates with external partners of our country. “In recent days, I have spoken with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council Charles Michel, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, President of Romania Klaus Iohannis, President of France Emmanuel Macron, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Prime Ministers of Canada, the Netherlands and Spain Justin Trudeau, Mark Rutte and Pedro Sanchez. The international community highly appreciates the humanitarian efforts of our country and is ready to help us in this endeavor. My interlocutors reaffirmed their support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and Moldova. Our partners and friends fully support our right to decide our own destiny and move forward along the path of European integration. I have repeatedly told my interlocutors that in these difficult times for Moldova, European integration is the most important guarantee that our country will remain part of a free world in which human dignity, human rights and freedoms are valued and respected - and the safest way to significantly improve the living conditions of our citizens.” Maia Sandu said. She noted that the reality in which we woke up on February 24 changed our life plans. “Today we all understand how important peace is. Without peace, we cannot develop, we cannot build a prosperous and peaceful future. Moldova continues to call for a cessation of hostilities and a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine through dialogue. Today, peace is a priority,” the President of the Republic of Moldova emphasized. // 28.02.2022 — InfoMarket
