Moldovan authorities to postpone the entry into force of the Wholesale Electricity Market Rules from April 1 to a later date.

Moldovan authorities to postpone the entry into force of the Wholesale Electricity Market Rules from April 1 to a later date.

The Commission for Emergency Situations approved this decision. It was agreed that, in derogation from the procedures established by the current legislation, until March 18, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) needs to change the date of entry into force of the Electricity Market Rules, approved by the previous ANRE resolution, so as not to apply them during the state of emergency. In the period before the entry into force of the Electricity Market Rules, their provisions will be applied in a test mode, without the application of financial liability between participants in the electricity market. Earlier it was reported that the entry into force of the wholesale electricity market rules was postponed in Moldova from January 1, 2022 until April 1, so that all market participants could conduct a 3-month testing phase. The new electricity market rules were adopted by ANRE in August 2020, and they define the procedures for resolving the imbalance, purchasing electricity on the forward, daily, intraday and balancing markets, as well as purchasing additional services. The updated market rules contain an improved procedure for the purchase of electricity and the rules for balancing market participants located on the left bank of the Dniester. // 28.02.2022 - InfoMarket
