Moldovan authorities have extende the state of emergency in healthcare until November 30.
The National Emergency Public Health Commission adopted this decision in view of the worsening epidemiological situation in the country. The Commission recommended by December 1 to bring the vaccination rate of first-line workers who interact with citizens to 95% in the following areas: private and public health care institutions; socio-medical, rehabilitation and balneo-sanatorium institutions; accommodation centers for children and the elderly; subordinate structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Service; central and local authorities, the Public Services Agency, post offices and banks, in which direct interaction with customers is carried out; as well as workers of the HoReCa industry, drivers / carriers of passengers of auto, air, railway transport and conductors. In settlements in which the "red" code is in effect, it is recommended to extend the autumn holidays until November 7. Until November 8, the organization of private events (weddings, christenings, memorial tables, festive feasts) is allowed with the participation of up to 50 people in closed spaces or up to 100 people in open spaces, providing at least 2 sq. m for each visitor / client, with the obligation to present a COVID-19 certificate to the person appointed by the administrator of the institution where the event is held. At the same time, from November 8, in settlements with a Covid-19 "red" code, such events will be completely prohibited. Let us recall that the "red" code is introduced in settlements in which the incidence of COVID-19 infection is 250 or more cases per 100 thousand people over the past 7 days. Based on this, the most severe restrictive measures are in force in such settlements. Currently, the "red" code is active in 8 settlements of Moldova, including the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti, as well as in the Transnistrian region. The Commission also approved a new Instruction on the organization and conduct of elections by the Central Election Commission in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision to extend the state of emergency in health care for another month was made taking into account the deteriorating situation, including in the largest municipalities of the country - in Balti and Chisinau, due to the increased risk of further spread of the virus and in order to prepare for an adequate response in case the pandemic evolves. As of October 25, 329,294 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in Moldova, of which 14,295 are active. The frequency of infection cases over the past 7 days amounted to 308 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, which is 16% more than a week ago, almost 2.6 thousand people were hospitalized (+ 35%), 248 people are in intensive care (+ 43%). Over the past 7 days, the death rate was 6.9 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants of the country, which is 18% more than a week ago and 156% more than a month ago. // 28.10.2021 – InfoMarket
