There is no talk of liquidating Moldovagaz now, but the company must fulfill its obligations stipulated by the law, because otherwise it could be subject to sanctions and fines - Natalia Gavrilita.

This was stated by the Prime Minister, speaking on the air of one of the private TV channels. So she commented on the statement of the official representative of "Gazprom" Sergey Kupriyanov, who said that the Russian gas holding was confused by the information that appeared about the intention of the Moldovan authorities to liquidate the enterprise "Moldovagaz", which hangs Moldova's debts to "Gazprom" for the supplied gas. The prime minister noted that Moldova wants to conclude a long-term contract with Gazprom, and the authorities are not talking now about the liquidation of Moldovagaz. At the same time, according to her, the Moldovagaz company must comply with the laws on natural gas in force in Moldova and other regulations on the natural gas market, which have been adopted by the parliament or approved by NAER. “There are certain obligations that Moldovagaz JSC did not fulfill. For example, it was not clear that the pressure in the gas pipe would drop below the critical level, which forced the government to declare a state of emergency and look for alternative sources for the urgent purchase of gas. We want the company to fulfill its legal obligations. For example, there is a requirement for official notification if there is no contract, there is an obligation to supply natural gas in an emergency, and so on. There are sanctions for non-compliance with the provisions of the law, there are fines that can be applied. If we get into a deeper crisis, then the government will have to intervene. But we don't want a crisis. We want a long-term contract with Gazprom and the purchase of gas at a reasonable price, ”said the head of the Cabinet.// 26.10.2021 — InfoMarket
