
Gross agricultural production in Moldova in January-September 2020 amounted to 27 billion 039 million lei, an increase of 20.5% compared to the same period in 2020.
As InfoMarket was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, the growth in agricultural production was due to an increase in crop production by 34.9%, while livestock production decreased by 4.7%. In particular, in the III quarter of this year agricultural production increased by 30.9% compared to the corresponding quarter of last year, including crop production increased by 38.1%, and livestock production increased by 2.1%. According to the NBS, the share of agricultural products in the third quarter of 2021 amounted to 81.9% of the total agricultural products received in 9 months 2021, while the share of the III quarter of 2020 in the total agricultural production for 9 months 2020 was 72.4%. As noted in the NBS, this year's harvest is characterized by a significant increase in the total harvest of crops, especially cereals. According to preliminary data from the NBS, this year the gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops (excluding corn) in all categories of farms amounted to about 1,822 thousand tons, which is 2.6 times more compared to the same period in 2020, the wheat harvest in Moldova this year amounted to 1 million 530 thousand tons (2.7 times more), barley - about 245 thousand tons (an increase of 2.3 times), legumes - 37 thousand tons (+ 38%). According to the NBS, the average yield of cereals and legumes in Moldova in 2021 as a whole amounted to 44.5 c / ha (an increase of 2.6 times compared to 2020). Herewith, the average yield of wheat was 45.7 c / ha (an increase of 2.6 times), barley - 41.3 c / ha (+ 94.8%), legumes in general - 24.8 c / ha (+79.7%), corn - 55.8 centners / ha (4.6 times growth). The average yield of sunflower was 24.3 c / ha (+ 94.4%), sugar beet - 421 c / ha (+ 67.1%), rapeseed - 26.9 c / ha (+ 39.4%), soybeans - 25.4 c / ha (2.6 times growth), potatoes - 232.5 c / ha (+ 17.5%), vegetables - 104.7 c / ha (+ 4.6%), pome fruits - 147.9 c / ha (+ 27.1%), stone fruit - 63 c / ha (+ 13.1%), grapes - 68 c / ha (+ 51.4%). According to the NBS, in January-September 2021, compared to the same period last year, the raising of livestock and poultry (in live weight) in all categories of farms (in comparable prices) decreased in kind by 3.4% - to 142.6 thousand tons. At the same time, at agricultural enterprises this indicator decreased by 0.3% - to 72.8 thousand tons, and in households - decreased by 6.4% - to 69.8 thousand tons. Production cow's milk for 9 months 2021 decreased by 9.9% - to 242.5 thousand tons. Meanwhile, its production at agricultural enterprises decreased by 1.1% - to 17.3 thousand tons, and in households - decreased by 10.5% - to 225.2 thousand tons. In January-September 2021, in comparison with the same period in 2020, the production of eggs in Moldova decreased by 1.8% - to 515.3 million pieces.
