Moldova will soon receive the second 50 million euros tranche of the EU macro-financial assistance, and in autumn the country will receive $236 million from the IMF - Natalia Gavrilita.
As noted by the Prime Minister, in order to receive the said tranche from the European Union, the authorities last week approved a new Customs Code and amendments to the Law on the National Integrity Authority and the Law on Declaring Property and Personal Interests. “We are also working to increase the transparency of public procurement in healthcare and are confident that the second 50 million euros tranche of the EU macro-financial assistance will soon go to the budget and help to rebalance it,” Prime Minister said. According to her, in autumn Moldova will receive from the IMF special financing totaling more than $236 million. “We are also negotiating with the Romanian government to continue support within the framework of a 100 million euros grant agreement. We agreed in principle with the Romanian side that this money will go partially for the purchase of medical equipment, but the largest part will go to mayors’ offices for local projects. This means construction projects, jobs, local development for hundreds of settlements in Moldova,” said Natalia Gavrilita. She also noted that the authorities are also preparing to use the assistance allocated by the European Union for the implementation in the next 3 years of the Economic Recovery Plan with a total value of 600 million euros. “This is only a part of the amounts that we can count on in the coming years. We have other ongoing projects to finance infrastructure development, business support, export promotion, local development, etc.,” the head of government emphasized. // 20.08.2021 - InfoMarket
