The press service of the parliament reported this, noting that the Parliamentary Commission on Foreign Policy and European Integration at a meeting on Wednesday approved the start of negotiations on a draft agreement on the construction of this bridge, which will be signed by the governments of Moldova and Romania. The document will deal with technical, financial, legal and organizational aspects related to the construction, operation, maintenance and repair of the road bridge between the two countries. According to the draft agreement, the construction of the bridge will ensure greater mobility of citizens and facilitate the development of trade in the domestic market of the contracting parties and in the international market. At the same time, it will also enhance the role of Moldova as a link between the EU and CIS countries. Funding for the technical project will be provided by the Romanian government, including an environmental impact assessment, as well as the construction of the bridge itself and the construction of related infrastructure on its territory. Moldova will provide an environmental impact assessment on its territory, as well as funding for the construction of associated road infrastructure. The total cost of the work will be about 40 million euros. At the same time, Moldova will allocate about 7 million euros, including for the work at the checkpoint. // 18.08.2021- InfoMarket.
