
Moldovan exports in January-June 2021 amounted to $1 billion 331.5 million, up 13.8% compared to the same period in 2020.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) informed that, the export of domestic goods for 6 months in 2021 amounted to $982.3 million (73.8% of the total), up 8.9% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the re-export of goods in January-June 2021 amounted to $349.2 million (26.2% of the total), which is 30.4% more than in the same period in 2020. At the same time, the re-export of goods after processing (clothes, shoes, shoe parts, armchairs, electrical wiring and cables, other products for the automotive industry, peeled nuts, chairs and other furniture, suitcases, textiles, toys, etc.) accounted for 18% of total exports, while classic re-export of foreign goods (medicines, cigarettes, wine distillates, whiskey, gin, vodka, liqueurs, beer, fuel, fabrics, knitwear, essential oils, perfumes and cosmetics, vehicles, furniture, etc.) - 8.2 %. According to the NBS, for the export of goods abroad in this period, motor transport was most often used - 92% of the total volume, followed by sea transport - 6.1%, air - 1.1%, rail - 0.7%, as well as postage - 0.1%. In general, Moldovan exports to the EU countries in the first half of 2021, relative to the same period of 2020, increased by 15.7% - to $858.8 million, to the CIS countries - increased by 7.5% - to $208.4 million, and to other countries - increased by 13% - to $264.2 million. The share of EU countries in the total volume of Moldovan exports during the specified period increased from 63.46% to 64.5%, the share of CIS countries decreased from 16.56% to 15.65%, and the share of other countries decreased from 19.98% up to 19.85%. According to the NBS data, for 6 months in 2021, the main countries of destination for Moldovan exports were: Romania (28% of the total Moldovan exports), Germany (10.1%), Russia (9.7%), Turkey (8.6%), Italy (7.1 %), Poland (3.9%), Czech Republic (3.2%), Ukraine (2.8%), Belarus (2.3%), Great Britain (1.9%), Hungary, Holland and Spain (by 1.4%), France (1.3%), Bulgaria, Switzerland and Portugal (1.2% each), Lebanon (1.1%), Greece (1%). At the same time, in January-June 2021, relative to the same period of 2020, Moldova increased exports to Romania (+ 26.8%), Germany (+ 30%), Turkey (+ 34.6%), UAE (31 times), Hungary (2.2 times), Ukraine (+ 34.9%), Great Britain (+ 39.3%), Portugal (1.8 times), Belgium (2.2 times), Lebanon (1.7 times), Poland (+ 10.7%), Russia (+ 3.8%), Israel (2.4 times), Czech Republic (+ 8.5%), Libya (131.7 times), Uzbekistan (2.4 times), Egypt (12.4 times), China (+ 39.6%), Slovakia (+ 33.9%), Canada (1.6 times), Holland (+ 8.8%), Serbia (+ 20.6%), Nigeria (2.4 times), Georgia (+ 8.6%), Austria (+ 7.3%), Chile (65, 5 times). At the same time, during the specified period, Moldova reduced exports to Switzerland (-59.6%), Italy (-11.2%), Greece (-36%), Cyprus (-46.9%), Indonesia (-79 %), Spain (-14.4%), Bulgaria (-11.9%), Belarus (-6.1%), Jordan (-76.4%), Estonia (-54.4%), USA ( -6.9%), South Africa (-61%), Saudi Arabia (-27.4%), Taiwan (-82.6%), France (-3%).
