Moldova and Russia agreed to remove existing barriers and restrictions in mutual trade - Dmitry Kozak.
The deputy head of the Russian presidential administration told reporters about this following the results of the talks with Moldovan President Maia Sandu in Chisinau. He noted that after the new government of Moldova was formed and an element of stability came, the parties agreed to meet and talk about issues on the bilateral agenda. “We discussed the entire list of issues. The conversation was very constructive, in a benevolent sense we agreed on cooperation and the beginning of a dialogue at the interdepartmental level literally from tomorrow on all the problems that are of concern to the leadership of Moldova, citizens of Moldova and the leadership of the Russian Federation, ”said Dmitry Kozak. He noted that the parties agreed on cooperation on mutual trade, on duty-free trade, on lifting the restrictions that have arisen for Russian exporters on the Moldovan market, as well as on the reciprocal steps of the Russian side regarding the supply of Moldovan agricultural products to the Russian market. The deputy head of the Russian presidential administration said that the gas problem was a separate topic of conversation. "It exists. Dialogue is also needed here. A mutually beneficial decision must be made. No one should give gifts to anyone, but no one should infringe on anyone either, ”said Dmitry Kozak. According to him, the parties need to come to an agreement regarding gas prices and expanding the export of Moldovan products to Russia, and they will continue negotiations in this regard. The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia said that during the meeting with the President of Moldova, the Russian side was asked to assist in the settlement of the Transnistrian problem and the related issue of disposal of ammunition. “We are also interested in the disposal of these ammunition, the expiration date of which has expired and they cannot be transported. We have agreed on this interaction, ”noted Dmitry Kozak. At the same time, he stressed that the solution of the Transnistrian issue is an internal affair of Moldova. “Moldova and Transnistria must come to an agreement. Russia is ready to assist you to come to an agreement, no more. The same as it was before. We are not ready to put forward our own terms of the settlement. This is not our business, this is your internal business, ”summed up the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. Herewith, as Dmitry Kozak noted, Maia Sandu assured him that there would be no blockade of Transnistria, the possibility of which the authorities of Tiraspol had previously discussed. "Maia Grigorievna assured that there will be no blockade of Transnistria, and Chisinau is doing everything so that it does not come from September 1, when certain restrictions are imposed, based on the fact that Moldovans also live in Transnistria," a senior Russian official said. Referring to the possible extension of the agreement on friendship and cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova, which expires this fall, Dmitry Kozak noted that this issue was not discussed. “We will definitely be friends and we will definitely cooperate,” he stressed. The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation said that Russia respects the choice of the Moldovan people and is ready to cooperate with the new legally elected authorities of Moldova. When asked about the possibility of a meeting between Maia Sandu and Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said: “If we reach a preliminary agreement on these issues at the working level, then this meeting will certainly take place. The Russian Federation is ready to help Moldova, but on a mutually beneficial basis, not to the detriment of the national interests of the Russian Federation. There are tremendous opportunities for reaching these agreements. I saw it today on the basis of the dialogue we had with the President of Moldova, ”stressed Dmitry Kozak. He also noted that the President of Moldova invited him to visit Moldova, and expressed satisfaction with the talks held in Chisinau. // 12.08.2021 — InfoMarket
