Monthly inflation in Moldova was 0.08% in July 2021, annual inflation (for the last 12 months) - 3.49%, and inflation in January-July of this year - 3.95%.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported this, noting that deflation was registered at the level of 0.23% in July last year, inflation in January-July 2020 was 0.84%, and annual inflation in July last year was 4.23%. As noted by the NBM, consumer prices in July 2021 increased by an average of 0.08% compared to the previous month, against the background of an increase in prices for non-food products - by 0.6%, as well as an increase in tariffs for services provided to the population - by 1.37%, while food prices decreased by 1.36%. In particular, in July 2021, compared to the previous month, prices for the following food products increased: chicken eggs (+ 14.3%), root crops (+ 10.2%), citrus fruits (+ 7.4%), fresh and frozen fish (+ 3.8%), whole milk (+ 3.1%), low-alcohol and non-alcoholic beer (+ 2%), natural bee honey (+ 1.6%), meat, semi-finished meat products and canned food (+ 0.9%). In particular: beef rose in price by 2.2%, poultry - by 1.1%, pork - by 1%. At the same time, in the reporting period, prices for the following products decreased: vegetables - by 15.6% (in particular: cucumbers - by 32.3%, tomatoes - by 28.6%, bell peppers, zucchini - by 28.4%, cabbage - by 22.1%, garlic - by 8.8%, onions - by 6.5%), stone fruits - by 14.9%, potatoes - by 14.6%. As for non-food products, in July 2021, compared to the previous month, an increase in prices was registered in respect of information processing equipment (+ 6.9%), liquefied gas in cylinders (+ 3.9%), materials for repairs and home maintenance (+ 3.8%), spare parts and accessories for personal vehicles (+ 3.5%), furniture (+ 2.6%). At the same time, in the same reporting month, prices for the folloing commodities slightly decreased: plants and flowers (-4.8%), gasoline (-2.3%), diesel fuel (-1.8%). Among the services provided to the population, in July 2021, compared to the previous month, there was registered an increase in prices for services of hairdressers and beauty salons - by 9.3%, repair of furniture and furniture items - by 8.9%, annual training contracts in universities and colleges - by 3.5% and 1.3%, respectively.
