Moldovan government approves the restructuring of four ministries.
According to the government's decision, the former Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure was renamed into the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. The Ministry of Economy is a separate ministry and it will control the following sectors: economics, quality infrastructure and market supervision, information technology. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research was reorganized by splitting into two institutions - the Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Culture (it will take over responsibility for culture and national heritage, as well as tourism). The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection was split into the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (the latter will be responsible for the labor sector, social protection and demography). The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment was renamed the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, and the Ministry of the Environment became a separate institution to cover the areas of environmental protection, climate change and natural resources. At the same time, the sphere of regional development and territorial planning was transferred to the management of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. Thus, the new Cabinet of Ministers will include 13 ministries, and not 9, as in the previous government. According to Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, such a division will allow the Cabinet of Ministers to increase the efficiency of work in key areas necessary for the development of the Republic of Moldova. Within 15 days, the reorganized ministries must submit amendments to their regulations on the organization and functioning, structure and staffing table, lists of subordinate administrative bodies, etc., including proposals for the redistribution of budget expenditures between the new ministries for 2021. // 13.08.2021 - InfoMarket.
