
Over the 14 years of its activity, ODIMM has contributed to the attraction of investments in the economy in the amount of 2 billion lei and the creation of more than 11 thousand jobs.
The Organization for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector (ODIMM), established on May 17, 2007 at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure to support the development of the SME sector, presented the main results of its activities over 14 years. During a press conference on Monday, the general director of the organization, Iulia Costin, noted that more than 150 thousand beneficiaries have used ODIMM services over 14 years, including 110 thousand people who received consultations on business issues, 38 thousand companies received training, and 4.5 thousand companies used grants totaling over 665 million lei. “ODIMM has established itself as an ambassador of the business environment, contributing to the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Moldova. All these years, the organization has developed, replenishing its portfolio with new products and services for the country's SMEs. With the help of ODIMM, companies are able to reduce operating costs, reduce entrepreneurial risks, increase brand value, create new sources of income and become competitive in the local market and in various foreign markets, ”said Iulia Costin. She stressed that ODIMM's achievements are due to both state support and assistance from international donors - the EU, GIZ, UN, WB, etc. For example, the EU's comprehensive assistance for the development of the SME sector in Moldova and over the years of ODIMM's existence has exceeded 17 million euros. The organization currently operates 12 business support programs, most of which provide comprehensive training, funding and mentoring. ODIMM is present in all regions of Moldova, and SMEs have 11 business incubators for startups, 3 clusters to strengthen relations between regional players, a network of consulting centers under district councils. In addition, multifunctional industrial platforms are in the process of being created. In 2021, with the support of the government and external partners, ODIMM plans to launch 7 new business support programs. They are aimed at increasing the competitiveness of SMEs; providing entrepreneurs in difficult situations with the opportunity to restart their business; strengthening rural tourism; accelerating technology transfer between universities and the private sector; creation of social enterprises, etc. // 17.05.2021 — InfoMarket
