The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has put into circulation two commemorative silver coins dedicated to Petru Teodorovici and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy
The “Outstanding Personalities” series has been expanded with a ribbed silver coin “Petru Teodorovici – 75th birthday.” The commemorative silver coin with a face value of 50 lei has been issued in a circulation of 500 pieces. It has a diameter of 30 mm and weighs 16.5 g. The reverse of the coin features a portrait of composer Petru Teodorovici in the center, an image of a treble clef, and the semicircular inscription “75 de ani de la naștere” and “Petru Teodorovici.” The second coin, which will be added to the “Others” series, has a circulation of 1,000 copies, a diameter of 35 mm, a weight of 22 g, and a face value of 50 lei. The obverse of the coin features the central building of the N. Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Both coins were put into circulation on December 26 as a means of payment and for numismatic purposes. Each coin is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and is sold to the public by the National Bank, as well as by licensed banks, which independently set the sale price of the commemorative coin, but no more than 3% of the price set by the National Bank.
