The National Bank of Moldova is constantly working to make financial education accessible to all citizens, especially young people - Anca Dragu
Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) made this statement in the latest episode of the “Give Sense to Money” podcast, a project dedicated to financial education and open dialogue with the general public. The head of the National Bank is a regular guest on this podcast, and the special guest on the current episode was Igor Sarov, rector of Moldova State University. As noted in the NBM statement, during the discussion, the parties touched on topical issues concerning the role of financial education in schools and universities, the importance of partnership between educational institutions and the central bank, as well as the need for young people to acquire solid financial skills in order to cope with rapid changes in the economy. Anca Dragu emphasized that the National Bank of Moldova is making continuous efforts to ensure that financial education is accessible to all citizens, especially young people. According to her, a proper understanding of financial concepts is the foundation of a responsible society capable of making wise and responsible decisions. “At the same time, we must be attentive to sources of information, because only then can we become consumers of quality financial products,” Anca Dragu stressed. In turn, Igor Sarov highlighted the successful cooperation with the NBM and the need to adapt financial education to modern realities. In this context, he mentioned the “School of Modern Finance” program, in which students—future journalists from the State University of Management—participated for the first time this year. “The participation of future journalists in the “School of Modern Finance” is an important step. The current generation needs programs that are adapted to the times, modern and interactive methods that will spark their interest and help them understand economic concepts in their native language," said Igor Sarov. New episodes of the “Give Sense to Money” podcast are produced in partnership with the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the State University of Moldova with the aim of promoting and developing economic journalism in Moldova. This partnership provides journalism students with the opportunity to learn about economic issues and convey clear, accessible, and relevant ideas to the general public. The “Give Sense to Money” podcast remains a platform for dialogue and learning through which the NBM promotes financial education, critical thinking, and responsible financial management. // 29.09.2025 — InfoMarket.
