As noted by the Ministry, these are companies in the telecommunications, agrifood, banking, and other sectors that are integrating ESG (environmental, social, and governance) principles into their business strategies and publicly reporting on their sustainability performance, and this evolution reflects the maturity of the business environment and gradual alignment with European and international practices. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization emphasized that the national companies that develop and publish ESG reports at the national level are Moldcell, maib, Trans-Oil Group, Purcari Winery Group, and among the local companies included in sustainability reports and applying ESG principles at the national level are Banca Transilvania, Rompetrol Moldova. As noted by the industry department, most companies use the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standard, the world's most widely used sustainability reporting system. At the same time, Moldcell and Purcari stand out as the first national companies to report in accordance with the new European ESRS, which is an important step towards compliance with EU requirements. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization points out that ESG principles are a strategic tool that strengthens competitiveness, facilitates access to financing, increases investor confidence, and contributes to sustainable business development.
