Taxpayers' arrears of basic payments to the budget increased by 22.7% over the last six months, totaling 1 billion 767.2 million lei at the end of June 2024
According to the State Tax Service, taxpayers have the most debts to the state budget - 749.9 million lei (+10.7% in six months), as well as to income tax - 537.3 million lei (+12.8%) and to local budgets - 521 million lei (+43.6%). Next follow the debts for VAT - 369.8 million lei (+10.7%), for the state social insurance budget - 372.5 million lei (+294%), for income tax - 263.8 million lei (a twofold increase compared to the beginning of the year), etc. At the same time, it is noted that from January to June 2024, as a result of the actions of the State Tax Service, taxpayers' debts of 1.5 billion lei were paid off, which is 4.3% less compared to the same period last year. Most of this amount - 0.9 billion lei - was written off from the accounts of debtor taxpayers and their debtors, another 0.5 billion lei was withdrawn from taxpayers' cash offices. // 05.08.2024 – InfoMarket
