Imports of goods and/or services intended for the projects "Moldova Roads III" and "Moldova Roads IV" will be exempted from VAT without the right of deduction.

The government approved the Regulation on granting tax and customs exemptions on the import and/or supply of goods and/or services meant for the implementation of the projects. According to the Cabinet decision, the goods and services are also exempted from excise duties, customs duty, fees for customs procedures and fees for goods. At the same time, the supply of goods and/or services intended for the implementation of projects will be exempt from VAT, but with the right to deduct, as well as exempt from excise duties and fees for goods, the use of which pollutes the environment. As InfoMarket reported earlier, the total amount of the EIB loan for the project "Moldova Roads III" is 250 million euros (initial 150 million euros and later allocated additional 100 million euros) and is intended to rehabilitate and modernize key sections of national roads, which belong to the extended trans-European transport network (TEN-T) and solidarity lanes through Moldova, thus contributing to better integration with the European Union. The EIB will also grant Moldova a loan of 150 million euros for the "Moldova Roads IV" project. It is planned that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide the same amount to co-finance the project. Also, the EU will allocate a 10-million-euro grant for this purpose. It is planned that these funds will be used to rehabilitate, modernize and widen more than 150 km of priority roads across Moldova, while the modern road infrastructure will bring additional benefits for people and the economy. // 24.01.2024 - InfoMarket.
