The procedure for opening a bank account will be simplified in Moldova.

In particular, the unpaid amount of tax liabilities in the amount of up to 100 lei will not be considered a debt to the national public budget in case of opening a bank account and tax registration. This is provided for by the relevant amendments to the Tax Code, which the Parliament adopted in the second reading. The document was developed by a deputy from the PAS faction Gheorghe Ichim. The draft law proposed by him provides for amendments to 129 Art. of the Tax Code and is aimed at facilitating the launch of a business by simplifying the procedure for opening bank accounts or payments for both legal entities and individuals. According to the current version of the Tax Code, if the taxpayer has debts even up to 100 lei, the State Tax Service has the right not to issue a document confirming the tax registration of bank accounts. Earlier, Minister of Finance Dumitru Budianschi noted that the relevant amendments to Article 129 of the Tax Code are aimed at preventing the State Tax Service from refusing to register as a taxpayer and, accordingly, from tax registration of bank accounts and / or payment accounts in the event of an unpaid amount of tax liabilities to the national public budget in the amount of up to 100 lei (inclusive). The amendments stipulate that the unpaid amount of tax liabilities up to 100 lei inclusive will not be considered a debt to the national public budget in case of tax registration of bank accounts and payment accounts. Thus, the country will facilitate access to services for starting a business and processing documents for opening and tax registration of bank accounts. The head of the Ministry of Finance noted that as a result of the implementation of the proposed amendments, an increase in revenues to the national public budget from taxes and fees generated by new enterprises created as a result of facilitating quick and effective access to starting a business is predicted. In addition, the mechanism of fiscal administration will be improved.//20.10.2022 — InfoMarket.
