Moldovan Parliament has registered a draft law on the program of VAT reimbursement to agricultural producers.
The program is offered to support agricultural producers, which suffered from natural disasters, namely those who lost more than 50% of their harvest, on at least 50% of the land they own or use. Reimbursement will be granted to VAT-paying enterprises that have registered amounts of VAT to be deducted in subsequent periods. The refund will be made on the basis of an application filed with the STS and will be available for periods starting from April 2022 till June 2023 inclusive. The authors of the bill noted a significant reduction (by 40-60%) in the average yield of corn, sunflower, sugar beet, while prices for fertilizers and crop protection products and energy resources increased in the regional markets.
