The State Tax Service (STS) issued an Order, which will allow implementation of mechanism of residence confirmation in Moldova, when individuals open accounts in foreign banks. The Order establishes the application form for residence confirmation and the form of residence confirmation for opening of accounts in foreign banks. Citizens will be able to file an application for such document to the tax services departments of the Main Tax Service Department of the State Tax Service at the applicant's place of service. The proof of registration at the place of residence is an identity card. The STS shall issue such proof within 3 working days from the date of receipt of the application. Confirmation of residency includes the full name of an individual, his/her personal identification number, home address (country, town, place of residence and zip code), telephone, e-mail of the resident. It indicates the foreign banking institution to which this confirmation will be provided. The document may be issued in Romanian, Russian or English. The confirmation is valid only until the end of the year in which it was issued.
