In 2021, there were 4,007 millionaires in Moldova, which is 35% more than a year earlier.
According to the State Tax Service, the number of citizens with incomes of 1 million lei in 2021 reached 4,007 people, which is 1,045 more than in the previous year (2,962 individuals). In total, natural person millionaires declared an income of 12 billion 825.7 million lei last year (+32.3% compared to 2020) and paid income tax in the amount of 837.9 million lei (+37.1%). Almost 77% of millionaires - 3075 people - received in 2021 income in the amount of 1 million to 3 million lei, 555 people received income from 3 million to 6 million lei, 255 - from 6 million to 11 million lei, 152 individuals declared income over 11 million lei. According to the State Tax Service, the youngest millionaire in Moldova is 18 years old (as in the previous 2 years, and in 2018 - 21 years old), the oldest is 88 years old (in previous years, the maximum age of millionaires was 97, 85 and 90 years).
