According to the State Tax Service (STS), taxpayers can choose one of the following ways to apply: electronically, via the online service "Electronic Declaration", in hard copy at the territorial division of the State Tax Service. To reimburse the overpaid amount of income tax, an individual must first file an income tax return. The deadline for filing this declaration for 2021 is May 3. According to the STS, the amount of overpaid income tax approved for refund may be transferred to a bank account, refunded in cash in the prescribed manner or used to pay existing or future tax liabilities.
