Over 10,000 runners from 59 countries took part, on 12-13 September, in the maib | Mastercard Chisinau Marathon 2026, one of the most important sporting events in the Republic of Moldova, organized by Sporter. As general partners, maib and Mastercard supported the event and the community of people who choose movement, an active lifestyle, and the challenges that help them push their limits.

For two days, Chișinău ran together. From the youngest participants in the Moldcell Marathon For Kids to the runners of the 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and 42 km races, and the participants of Marathon For All and Fun Run, the event brought together people of different ages and fitness levels, united by the same passion for sport.

For maib, supporting the marathon is part of a broader commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging people to be active, set goals, and go the distance. For the second year in a row, together with Mastercard, we are general partners of this event, which brings the same energy into a priceless experience that connects people, community, and sport.

The maib team was the largest corporate presence at this year's edition. 218 maib employees took part in the various races, and maib was named the largest corporate team participating in the event. Our participation comes in a special year for the Activ la Superlativ community, which this September celebrates seven years since its founding – a community built around movement, energy, and the joy of being active together.

For maib's "superlatives" the marathon was about more than races and kilometres. It was about determination, team spirit, and the joy of being part of a community that runs together.
