Chișinău, 29 October 2026. The partnership between SUMMA and FIBA Group announces the launch of MallDova Park, a new multifunctional shopping and leisure centre to be developed in Stăuceni, Chișinău Municipality. With an estimated investment value of €250 million, the project represents one of the largest private investments ever made in the Republic of Moldova within a single project and at a single location, confirming the strategic role of the SUMMA – FIBA Group partnership in the country's economy.

MallDova Park will bring together retail, gastronomy, entertainment and events in a landmark destination for the capital and the wider region. The centre will feature over 61,600 m² of gross leasable area and will create approximately 3,000 jobs.

Government officials, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in the Republic of Moldova, investors and international financial institutions attended the official project launch ceremony.

Vasile Tofan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova: " Today, we are celebrating a €250 million investment project. I am not aware of any other project of this magnitude since the Republic of Moldova gained its independence. We are talking about a single investment equivalent to 1.3% of our country's GDP. This project has the potential to turn Chișinău into a regional attraction, drawing visitors from Iași, Odesa, Galați, and Vinnytsia, among other cities. I would like to thank FIBA Group and SUMMA for their continued commitment to and interest in our country, as well as for everything they have accomplished so far. Their activities span sectors such as tourism, hospitality, energy, healthcare, and retail, and their investments in Moldova already amount to hundreds of millions of euros. I wish the investors every success here and encourage them to continue investing and reinvesting in Moldova, while remaining friends of our country."

Nazmiye Başaran, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Moldova: "The economic partnership between Türkiye and the Republic of Moldova is not just about the figures on a balance sheet. It certainly means much more than that. It means building on the foundation of the friendship between our two countries. Every day, we add brick by brick to further strengthen the edifice of our friendship. MallDova Park, one of the largest private investment projects in the country, will undoubtedly be a landmark in strengthening our economic and trade relations. I am confident that we will continue to harness the immense potential at our disposal, for the benefit of our shared prosperity and sustainable development."

MallDova Park is designed as a place where people come not only to shop, but also to eat, meet friends, watch a match or attend an event. The project is built on the "Beyond Retail" philosophy, which sees shopping centres as places to spend leisure time, not just to shop.

With a total built-up area of approximately 180,000 m², the complex will accommodate around 170 stores, including numerous international brands that are not currently present in the Republic of Moldova, a supermarket, a Food Hall, a gastronomic street and spaces dedicated to public events. The project also provides for 1,888 parking spaces, including 1,558 underground spaces.

An Investment with an Impact on the Economy and Labour Market

The economic effects of the investment will extend beyond the shopping centre itself and will be felt across construction, retail, services, food service, entertainment and logistics. The approximately 3,000 jobs expected to be created will expand employment opportunities and contribute to the development of services in the Chișinău region. The new centre will create favourable conditions for entrepreneurial activity, diversify the retail offering and expand opportunities for local suppliers. At the same time, the scale of the investment and the involvement of experienced international groups strengthen confidence in the Moldovan market and in its capacity to accommodate large-scale projects.

Construction works, including the fit-out of premises by tenants, will take approximately 36 months, with the centre expected to open around three years after construction begins.

MallDova Park: Energy Efficiency and Responsible Use of Resources

MallDova Park is the first project in the Republic of Moldova to be developed in accordance with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) requirements, one of the most widely recognised international certification systems for sustainable buildings. The standard assesses energy performance, water consumption, material quality and environmental impact throughout a building's life cycle. Upon completion, MallDova Park aims to become one of the first newly built facilities in the country to obtain this certification.

The planned solutions include rainwater collection and reuse, energy efficiency and reduced energy consumption, as well as the use of environmentally friendly construction materials. The project is being developed with the support of specialised consultant Green Partners.

The architectural concept draws inspiration from the Republic of Moldova's wine-growing landscape and features a full-length skylit atrium, an open-air courtyard and spaces dedicated to gastronomy and events.

Its location next to Moldova Hitech Park, with access to public transport and nearby sports facilities, makes MallDova Park an attractive destination for residents of Chișinău and neighbouring regions.

Murat Özyeğin, Chairman of the Board of Directors, FIBA Group:
"With a total investment of EUR 250 million, MallDova Park is the largest private investment in the history of the Republic of Moldova. We are proud and honoured to be part of this project. We are delighted to be working once again with SUMMA, our long-standing partner in Moldova. Together, here in Chisinau, we have built Shopping MallDova, the Courtyard by Marriott Chisinau hotel and a Class A office building. These investments reflect our confidence in Moldova and our commitment to its future."

Giuseppe Grimaldi, Head of the EBRD Office in Moldova:
"Today's event confirms that Moldova has momentum, and investors are taking notice. At the EBRD, we are very pleased to advance in our joint discussions to finance what is about to become one of Moldova's largest direct private investments. We will keep working closely together to complete our assessment and put in place the financing that MallDova Park needs. At the EBRD, we were an impact investor long before the term even existed. For us, a good investment is not just about its size. It is about the difference it makes. We are particularly pleased to be working with FIBA and Summa again, building on a strong track record of cooperation in both Moldova and Türkiye."

Selim Bora, President, SUMMA: "SUMMA has been contributing to the economic development of the Republic of Moldova since 1996. Over more than three decades, we have built lasting relationships here and our confidence in the country's potential has grown. An investment of this scale is more than a project. It is a commitment to Moldova's future and a vote of confidence in its people, its institutions and its economy. It sends a strong message to the entire region and to international investors: Moldova is open to ambitious, long-term partnerships."

The launch of MallDova Park marks an important milestone in the development of a project with the potential to transform Chișinău's retail and urban landscape. Through the scale of the investment, the expected number of jobs and the diversity of its planned functions, the project aims to create long-term economic value and provide new opportunities for consumers, businesses and the local community.
