Moldova’s budget gap widened in the first half of 2026 as spending outpaced revenue growth, while external public debt also edged higher. At the same time, the government moved ahead with new financial-market and cryptoasset rules, energy procurement continued, and fresh financing was lined up for major road rehabilitation projects.
