Moldova's external debt rose to 10.42 billion euros in the first half of 2026

Moldova's external debt increased significantly in the first half of the year, with growth occurring in both the public and private sectors. In its published balance of payments report, the National Bank also disclosed the structure of liabilities, the debt-to-GDP ratio, and key creditors, which allows for an assessment of the sources contributing to the burden on the economy.
