This was stated during the meetings that Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu, held in Brussels with members of the European Parliament on the acceleration of Moldova's financial integration into the European Union. According to the National Bank, the discussions focused on the NBM's role in promoting Moldova's financial integration into the European Union, emphasizing the progress in the implementation of structural reforms included in Moldova's Growth Plan. The central topic of the meetings was the accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), a strategic development that will allow modernizing the payments infrastructure, strengthening financial stability and improving Moldova's economic integration into the European market. As noted, the move will bring direct benefits to citizens and businesses, providing more favorable conditions for fast, secure and very cheap financial transactions. During a meeting with MEP Siegfried Muresan, Сo-chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for the Moldova-EU Association, a number of advantages of Moldova's accession to the SEPA were mentioned. For citizens - faster, safer and cheaper transactions without additional costs related to national borders; for the business community - simplification of cross-border payments, reduction of bureaucracy and better access to European commercial partnerships, which will increase the competitiveness of Moldovan companies on the EU market; for the Diaspora - significant reduction of expenses for international transfers, provision of financial assistance to families in Moldova. The sides noted that these transformations will speed up Moldova's financial integration with the European economy and will create a more attractive climate for investments and sustainable economic development. The sides highlighted the importance of accessing European markets, supporting financial reforms, enhancing transparency and, in particular, Moldova's accession to SEPA - a huge step in facilitating banking transactions with the EU. “The National Bank of Moldova plays an important role in preparing the country for EU accession. The adoption of European rules will attract more foreign investors, improve competition in the banking sector and enhance the quality of financial services, which will have a beneficial impact on all citizens and the whole economy,” Anca Dragu emphasized.
