
NBM Governor Anca Dragu represented Moldova at the IMF High-Level Constituent Body Conference, held in Amsterdam and organized by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB)
According to the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), the event gathered central bank governors, officials of international financial institutions and economic policy experts and was dedicated to the topic “Managing Geoeconomic Fragmentation”. During the conference, the NBM Governor participated in a discussion on the impact of geopolitical shocks on the economy. The Moldovan delegation also included Petru Rotaru, First Vice President of the NBM. The participants highlighted the numerous challenges faced by the developing economies and stressed the need to harmonize financial regulation at the regional level in order to enhance economic sustainability, the importance of international cooperation in the development of energy and financial infrastructure, measures to mitigate financial risks through efficient macroprudential policies, in order to protect the economy from the destabilizing impact of external shocks and facilitate the adaptation to the new economic realities. The event concluded with sessions on policies to respond to geoeconomic shocks, with the participation of IMF representatives and country central bank governors from the Constituent Body. // 17.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
