Moldova's GDP in 2023, according to revised data, will grow by 1.2%, not by 0.7%, as previously reported - Dumitru Alaiba

The Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization wrote about this on his social network page, noting that the National Bureau of Statistics updated the data on Moldova's GDP growth in 2023 after processing the final reports of enterprises and adjusting the final data. Dumitru Alaiba emphasized that there is no reason to celebrate, as this indicator remains far below the necessary one. “With every reform we promote, we are preparing the economy for the kind of accelerated growth we need and yes, sometimes the results will be seen over time. We are going through difficult and uncertain times. No one feels this more clearly than our entrepreneurs. We are there for them and we help them to resist and even develop and invest,” said the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization. According to him, despite everything, against the background of this uncertainty, Moldovan companies continuously invested in 2024. “And we will continue our joint efforts to maintain positive trends in 2025 as well. We will continue to support the economy and every individual entrepreneur with reforms, with financing, with support mechanisms, with new opportunities and new markets. The EU-backed Growth Plan aims to support and accelerate the development of our economy. We have to double our economy in the next 10 years. European integration has brought economic transformation to absolutely all countries that have chosen this path. All countries that chose European integration are now richer thanks to this transformational process. This is what awaits us in the coming years,” Dumitru Alaiba said. As previously reported, Moldova's GDP in 2023, according to preliminary data, amounted to 300.42 billion lei, increasing by 0.7%, compared to 2022. Moldova's GDP in January-September 2024 amounted to 233 billion 129 million lei, up by 0.6%, compared to the same period in 2023. //13.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
