
The II Moldova – Romania: Capital Bridges Forum will be held in Bucharest on March 27.
The event is dedicated to promoting capital market opportunities in the two countries and is organized by the Bucharest Stock Exchange together with WOOD&Co, Raiffeisen Bank International, EBA, AmCham and maib. The forum will be held in a hybrid format with physical participation and online presentations. The purpose of the event is to stimulate economic cooperation and integration of the capital markets of Moldova and Romania in the context of negotiations on Moldova's accession to the EU. The forum will bring together key stakeholders to discuss macroeconomic reforms, investment opportunities and progress in the banking sector of Moldova, creating conditions for strengthening bilateral economic relations. It is planned that the prime ministers of the two countries, Dorin Recean and Marcel Ciolacu, as well as the presidents of national banks, financial supervisory authorities, the management of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, and Maib President Giorgi Shagidze will speak at the opening of the Moldova – Romania: Capital Bridges forum. The largest institutional investor in Moldova, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which has invested more than 2 billion lei in 166 projects in Moldova, will be represented by its President Odile Renaud-Basso. During the forum, discussions will take place in several panels. The panel “Economy, Politics and Reforms” will bring together representatives of international financial institutions and leading political figures from Moldova to discuss the progress and prospects of the country’s economy in the context of negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the EU. During the panel “Investment Opportunities: A Business Environment Perspective,” leading local and international companies from Moldova will discuss business challenges and opportunities. As part of the panel “Banking Sector: Development Prospects,” representatives of local and international banks will discuss the prospects of a key sector of the economy. The event will be attended by government officials and dignitaries from Moldova and Romania; academic experts and economic analysts specializing in regional economic development; representatives of the investment community and financial experts from Romania and other EU countries; key industry leaders and stakeholders from relevant sectors.
