The Ministry of Finance and Junior Achievement Moldova have signed a cooperation agreement on financial education.
The document was signed by Finance Minister Petru Rotaru and the Chairman of the Public Association Junior Achievement Moldova (JA Moldova), Alexandru Stratan. According to the Finance Ministry, the agreement will lay the foundations for a sustainable partnership in the field of popularization of public finances and promotion of responsible financial behavior among the population. According to the agreements stipulated in the agreement, the Finance Ministry and JA Moldova will provide mutual assistance in organizing joint events and projects to develop the financial skills of young people. At the same time, the sides will contribute to the involvement of specialists from the two institutions in mentoring activities for both students and teachers. As the head of the Ministry of Finance noted, an informed citizen understands not only the basic concepts of personal money management, but also the mechanisms and consequences of financial decisions at the state level. "Knowledge in this area allows citizens to evaluate fiscal policy, understand the state budget and actively participate in the democratic process, making informed decisions on spending and taxes, thus contributing to the development of a healthy economy and a more prosperous society," Petru Rotaru said. For his part, Alexandru Stratan said that proper financial education contributes to the development of independent and prosperous individuals, as well as enables young people to act efficiently and responsibly in a society that is constantly changing.
