The Ministry of Finance continues to discuss with economic agents issues related to the implementation of the transfer pricing principle.
On the platform of a working group specially organized for these purposes, the Ministry of Finance organized a meeting to discuss issues related to the concept of transfer pricing, as well as business proposals to improve the efficiency of transfer pricing, including taking into account international experience. As a reminder, according to the amendments made to the Tax Code, from January 1, 2024, special transfer pricing rules will be applied in Moldova in accordance with the “arm’s length” principle. Taxpayers who enter into transactions with affiliates with a total value of 20 million lei or more during the financial period (excluding VAT) will be required to compile information on transfer prices. If the value of such transactions is equal to or exceeds 50 million lei, the taxpayer, in addition to information, is obliged to submit a dossier on transfer prices. As State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Olga Golban noted, the use of transfer prices is a hot topic that interests both the ministry and business. According to her, during the meetings of the working group, the views of the parties regarding the implementation of this concept will be discussed in order to obtain a common understanding and remove all restrictions. This will allow clear rules to be in place by the time the transfer pricing provisions come into effect. The Ministry of Finance notes that the introduction of the concept of transfer pricing was required in the context of harmonization of tax legislation with EU practice, in the context of Moldova's future accession to the European Union.// 03.05.2023 – InfoMarket
