These are the results of a structural survey of enterprises in Moldova for 2021, conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics. For comparison, in 2020 Moldretail Group, Moldovagaz, Lukoil-Moldova, Premier Energy and Energocom were the largest enterprises by turnover, and in 2019. - Rompetrol Moldova, Lukoil-Moldova, Agrofloris-Nord, Premier Energy and Moldovagaz. As before, the highest level of concentration (77.4%) in the sector of production and supply of electric and thermal energy, gas and water supply: the top 5 companies of the sector in terms of turnover include Moldovagaz, Premier Energy, Termoelectrica, Energocom, Furmizarea Energie Electrice Nord. These companies employ 55.2% of the total number of workers in the sector. A total of 74 economic agents are registered in the sector, with a turnover of 23.3 billion lei, and the total number of employees amounts to 10,900. The second highest concentration is in the sector of water, waste and treatment, where the five leading companies ensured 73.4% of the turnover and 32.7% of the workplaces in the sector - Metalferos, Apă - Canal Chișinău, Rufi-Expres, Cintirela-lux and Autosalubritate. In total, 442 enterprises of this sector in 2021 had a turnover of almost 3.9 billion lei, employing 8.4 thousand people. Orange Moldova, Moldtelecom, Moldcell, Endava and International Services Data Processing accounted for 41% of the sector's turnover. Five companies in this sector employ 24.3% of the sector's employees. The total turnover of the sector (almost 1.9 thousand enterprises, 22.8 thousand employees) in 2021 amounted to about 16.8 billion lei. There is also a high concentration of companies in the accommodation and catering sector - 25.1% (the top five are Trabo-Plus (Andy's Pizza/La Placinte), Food Planet Restaurants (McDonald's), Leogrand Hotel, Deea House (Granier), Stropsa Alexandra (Mamuca). Of the 13.7 thousand workers in this industry in the top 5 companies there are employed 15.4%. The total turnover of 1.6 thousand enterprises of this sector in 2021 exceeded 4.2 billion lei. In the transport and storage sector the top 5 companies (19.6% of turnover and 34.1% of employees in the sector) are Air Moldova, Fly One, Calea Ferată din Moldova, Avia Invest and Moldovatransgaz. The turnover of the sector (2.7 thousand companies with 42.2 thousand employees) amounted in total to 20.2 billion lei. Five leading companies in the construction sector provided 13.4% of the turnover and 7.4% of jobs: Exfactor-grup, Inamstro, Promilton, Maol Investment and Onur taahhut tasimacilik insaat ticaret ve sanayi. In total, almost 2.7 thousand enterprises are registered in the construction sector (29.7 thousand employees) with a total turnover of about 23.9 billion lei. In the manufacturing industry, the concentration level of the first 5 large enterprises amounted to 13% (Floarea Soarelui, GG Cables&Wireles EE, Lear Corporation, SE Bordnetze and Supraten). These companies employ 12.5% of the total average number of workers in the manufacturing industry. In total, there are 3.9 thousand enterprises (101.4 thousand employees) operating in this sector and the turnover of the industry amounted to 68 billion lei. Agrofloris-Nord, Moldretail Group, Lukoil-Moldova, Rompetrol Moldova and Metro Cash&Carry had about 11% of the sector's turnover and 7.4% of the employees in wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repairs of motor vehicles and motorcycles. The total number of enterprises operating in the trade sector was 16.3 thousand (120.8 thousand employees) and the sector's turnover amounted to almost 230.9 billion lei. For several sectors the level of concentration is presented without indicating the leading companies. Thus, in the administrative activity and supplementary services sector, the concentration level of five leading companies was 34.6%, in provision of other services - 19.7%, in real estate - 13.6% and in professional, scientific and technical activities - 7.6%. //22.12.2022 - InfoMarket.
